Porcelain Veneers
Like most people, if you are unhappy with your smile you tend to smile with your lips closed or you put your hand up in front of your lips to hide your teeth. Porcelain veneers are a brilliant way to solve an unhappy smile. Maybe you just want front teeth veneers. Perhaps you have a small number of teeth you are unsatisfied with. Perhaps you want to change your whole dental appearance. Veneers may be for you.
What are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are very thin shells, typically made of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth to enhance the beauty of your smile. At Glen Innes Dental Centre we recommend dental veneers to correct several types of smile imperfections. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice for enhancing your smile because the color and translucence of porcelain is a great match for the natural appearance of tooth enamel. Porcelain is stain resistant as well, so your smile will stay bright for years to come. With dental veneers, you can achieve a beautiful, natural-looking smile that you will love to show off. You would come in for a preparation appointment where we would prep the tooth and take a mold to send to the lab. We would fit a temporary veneer if needed. A couple weeks later you would return to us to have the veneer fit once it has is returned from the lab.
Walk in and Walk out with a New Smile in the Same Day!
Only available at our sister practice in Matamata – Applecross House Dentists
In terms of the process to place veneers, it is a process that takes approximately two visits, in the same day! In the first visit, we will discuss the new shape and look of what we are going to accomplish by placing the veneers. Once we have put a plan in place, we will carefully prepare the teeth for the placement of the new veneers. As we complete this piece of the process, the next step is to take a Cerec scan. An internal 3D digital scan of your mouth where the Dentist can design your customized Veneers. Once the design is complete they send it through to the milling machine. Here the machine will replicate the design and “cut” out the customised Veneers.
As the veneers are finalized, we will make every effort to make sure that your new veneers will feel just like your natural teeth. We will bond them into place ensuring that you can enjoy your new smile for a very long time!
